RPL & ME

Hard at it (it says here) in rpl studios

Hard at it (it says here) in rpl studios

Hello. A whole bunch of time ago (well, sometime in the 1990's), I (pictured here, Dearest Reader) set up a music production company entitled "Rhythmshop Productions Ltd." The name originated from my former Live and Studio Band Sessioneers, who've largely not seemed to care too much that I borrowed said title, though most of them have run many a mile away (though  staying in the music biz, and much more brilliant than me!)

Hi Phil Scragg, Doug Boyle, Stevie Bray, Gary Hammond and Chris Blackwell...Love ya..

Truth is, new rpl was indeed set up to represent my compositions and productions, for artistes, bands, tv, film and commercials, and this website reflects that mostly, though there are also other examples of music and video, including live performances involving myself and others.

For someone that studied in Manchester, England and got a degree in "Polymer Science and Technology (Chemistry)" at Manchester University but had the desperate need to play and write for more and more bands whilst later having to come up with The Perfect Toothpaste Tube, it seemed inevitable that Music would be my thing, as it has indeed been.

As in house Producer and Composer at Battery Studios, London for over 10 years too, I got to work with a, uh, Galaxy of amazing people, including stars! Plus gained the experience of producing and recording singers, orchestras, soundtracks for films, TV and commercials, plus (he added smugly), got the odd Platinum and Gold disc myself.

So here we are, recording different artistes, writing, recording and performing, plus composing a few TV and Commercial scores here and there. That's just about me, and that's rhythmshop.
